Why advertise on the Colorado Local Sustainability website?

Colorado Local Sustainability was founded in 2007 to support the protection of farm and ranch land, increase the availability of fresh local food to our communities, keep the land and your life healthy by advocating sustainable agriculture methods, and to help support our local economies across Colorado.

Our website has shown an incredible amount of growth since the 2008 Rocky Mountain Growers Directory, our first print edition. Since January 2008, our web traffic has grown by almost 800%! (as of November 2009.) We continue to work toward increasing our readership by including regularly updated content (articles, recipes, etc) more resources, and more grower and business listings.

While we are working towards being more sustainable by improving our web presence, we still feel that the printed Rocky Mountain Growers Directory is an invaluable marketing and educational tool. The printed directory continues to reach a diverse range of people who may not use the internet that often. Our goal is to have the 2010 printed directory supported by our print and web advertisers as well as our sponsors.

In June of 2009 we redesigned our website to offer more news and information on local food, sustainable agriculture, and recipes using local food.  Since then, the traffic to our site has continued to grow each month.  If you commit to advertising for a year on our site, our readership should be far larger at the end of that year and you will have the benefit of a locked in price.

Details on web ads:

Your ad has the potential to show up on every page and blog post on our website. As of October 2009, we have over 300At Pages, not including blog posts (which include articles, news, reviews, recipes and more). Given the current number of pages viewed on our site, your web ad set to maximum views would show your ad over 100,000 times in one month. A maximum view ad will be displayed on every page, all the time.

With our rotating ads, your ad visibility will alternate with the ads of our other supporters. We generally try to keep it to three different advertisers per rotating block so that your ad will show up for most viewers.

All web ads are clickable and will open your website in a new window.

Ad Tracking: Our ad server software will allow you to view weekly statistics showing how many clicks your ad is getting. Please remember that readers may not click through and purchase on the spot. As with print or TV ads, your web ad as is all about presence, brand-building, and reinforcement.

Payment for web ads must be paid in full before we run your ad on our site.  Payment for print ads must be paid in full before our press date (generally February 15th of every year), or your ad will not be run.)
