Description: Heartwood Farms offers non-certified, biodynamic vegetables, fruits, and pastured, free-range eggs and turkeys. We here at Heartwood Farms have the highest respect for organic and natural, which is high priority in our growing practices, but we feel to go beyond this in combining a number of other cultural practices such as biodynamic, no-till, etc. We give highest priority to a Locally Grown Food System, choosing to put our money and energy into this instead of certifications. We are attempting to go direct to the public middle class at prices they can afford and still meet our overhead.
We use Biodynamic practices, vermiculture for soil input & pest control, mycillium input, succession planting, plantings to attract beneficial insects and birds, and a combination of techniques to increase soil micro- & macro-organisms.
We sponsor an intern program to acquaint others with alternative lifestyle and our consensus intentional community here at Heartwood Co-housint.
