Buy Locally Grown
Where does your food come from? Chances are, if you are buying from a larger supermarket, the food on your plate has travelled an average of 1500 miles, and in some cases it has been shipped in from other countries. You call that fresh? When you buy locally produced food it is fresher and better tasting that food shipped great distances.
Buying locally grown food keeps your money circulating in your community, instead of going out of state to large corporations. When we support local farms, we strengthen our local economies. With each local food purchase more of your dollar spent goes directly to the farmer and not middlemen or large corporations.
Get to know your farmers! What better way to really know where your food comes from? Buy from farmers & ranchers who use sustainable practices and avoid the use of chemicals, pesticides, genetically modified seed, hormones and antibiotics in their production. Sustainable practices are healthy for the environment, animal, plants and all of us.
