A big thanks to all of the advertisers who have been signing up to be a part of the directory! We will be posting the list of advertisers along with a pop-up web version of their display ads in the near future. If you are considering advertising, here is what is included in your display ad price:

  • Display ad in printed directory, distributed throughout Colorado
  • Line Listing in printed directory
  • Downloadable PDF version of the printed directory
  • Web listing with link to your company site
  • An online pop-up version of your print ad

The printed version will reach a minimum of 90,000 readers across Colorado. The exposure on our web site will reach an even larger readership. Our search engine ranking on Google is proving to be very high. Often our directory listing for a grower will show up before their own web site, and often before other sites like Local Harvest and Eat Wild. It is our goal to provide the best exposure possible for our farmers, ranchers, advertisers and everyone involved with our directory.

Don’t wait until the last minute to sign up for ad space (or grower listings for that matter). We do have a limited amount of ad space, and it is filling up fairly quickly. Any questions, please do not hestitate to contact us!

A few of our growers noticed this little thing, and I’ll share it. If you are adding your listing to the directory, for only $100 more you can get an 1/8 page display ad, AND a free line listing! Of course if you want a larger ad, you still get a free line listing.

We have added two new growers, one under Dairy (as well as lamb, beef and eggs) and another under Beef. Remember, this isn’t just a meat related directory! The fruit and vegetable growers we’ve talked with during our travels are interested in being in the directory, but need to wait until their busy season slows down. If you are thinking of join, and reading this, why not just take a moment to join now?

Things are definitely picking up. More people are joining, and we’ve had an influx of display advertisers signing on. Thank you to everyone who has already signed on to make this the best growers directory in Colorado! And thanks to all who have expressed their interest, and plan to join this fall when they aren’t so busy.

Back many months ago, I ran across a site where you could pledge how much you’d choose to spend per week on buying locally produced food. I put $20. This summer I have easily gone over that figure on buying local food each week. Once you taste the freshness, the goodness of local foods, it really is hard to eat anything else. It has a been a spring and summer of local foods from our favorite local meat producers, farmers markets and farm stands around the Boulder to Fort Collins areas. Not to mention some nice veggies & herbs from the gardens that Tracy & I have. Buy local! It really is the best way to go!
